Relocation of A Roller Shutter Door - Droitwich

At a recent job in Droitwich, the UK Rapid Door Systems team were faced with a unique situation in which our the opening for the customer’s roller shutter door was too low by 500mm to allow for their fleet of vehicles to be able to enter the workshop area for any necessary repairs or servicing.

In most cases, to increase an opening by as much as 500mm would call for the structure of the building to be altered, however, we were able to find a solution to create the addition headroom that was required without this being necessary. In order to create the required space, we were able to remove the existing steels and supply and fit new steels internally, along with additional lath to suit the existing insulated roller shutter.

As well as removing and replacing the existing steels, we were also required to relocate all control equipment.

The Insulated Dual Door 1000 from UK Rapid Door Systems is well suited to areas with a high traffic flow, operating at a speed of between 800mm and 1000mm per second, ensuring that as little time as possible is lost waiting for the door to open or close. As well as helping to reduce down time, insulated roller shutters also ensure that only a minimal amount of heat is via the open door.

Featuring an insulation value of 4.8W/m2K and a high security double skin lath profile, an insulated roller shutter door not only helps to reduce heat loss but also provides an effective security measure for industrial and commercial premises. The design of the Insulated Dual Door 1000 ensures that it is very durable and requires only minimal maintenance.
